Superman prequel Krypton is officially coming to the UK.

Channel 4 has announced that the series – which airs on SyFy in the US and takes place on Superman's home planet two generations before its destruction – will come to E4 later this year, via a deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution.

The comic series was developed for television by David S Goyer and Damian Kindler and follows the story of Superman's grandfather Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), who must fight an untold number of enemies to redeem the honour of his family on the planet.

It stars British actor Blake Ritson alongside Ray Donovan's Paula Malcomson as well as Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Aaron Pierre and Ian McElhinney.
