One Piece has officially kicked off production on its second season.

The cast of the hit Netflix series, which is based on the manga of the same, have reunited in South Africa to begin filming some more Straw Hat adventures.

The streaming service shared a special behind-the-scenes video showing Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji) catching flights to Cape Town and reuniting on the deck of the Going Merry.

"To the Grand Line!" Godoy then declares.

"It's happening, Nakama!" Netflix’s official X (formerly Twitter) account captioned the teaser. "From around the world, our Straw Hats have reunited to begin filming their epic season 2 adventure!"

One Piece follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as they set out to find the mythical 'One Piece' treasure, with the show’s first season becoming a big hit when it debuted last summer.

In May, Netflix released its 'What We Watched' stat round-up for the period of July to December 2023, confirming that the live-action adaption of One Piece racked up a staggering 72 million views, doubling the viewing of the anime film and series that were already on the service.

The second season is set to arrive in 2025 for some more adventures with the Straw Hats, though they could potentially run into some more trouble with fish-man Arlong.

While Arlong’s return for season two hasn’t been confirmed, actor McKinley Belcher III is keen to re-join the show.

"I would like to be involved. I had a really good time shooting that first season and because of the lore, there's more stories to tell whenever they get to Fish-Man Island," he said during an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.

"I am in contact with the showrunner and assuming the show has a life, hopefully I will have a life with it."

One Piece season one is available to watch on Netflix, while the second season is set to arrive in 2025.
