Best LEGO Batman sets for 2024

For legions of Batman fans, no version of Gotham City is quite as iconic as its depiction in Batman: The Animated Series.

Taking its inspiration from Tim Burton's 1989 live-action movie, the look of the TAS version of Gotham was dubbed "Dark Deco" by producers who wanted to bring a classically gothic overtone to Bruce Wayne's hometown.

Holy nostalgia, Batman! The newest LEGO Batman release takes us back to the Swinging '60s, where the villains were more colourful and Batman was never afraid to bust a move.

This iconic version of the Batmobile set the standard for live-action versions of the car for decades, right down to its goofy Bat-computer in the car boot.

Christopher Nolan completely upended expectations for the Batmobile in his Dark Knight trilogy – swearing off the sleek look in previous depictions in favour of something more akin to an armoured tank.

LEGO's TAS Batmobile comes with minifigures of Batman, Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze in the style of the cartoon show.

Batman doesn't always jump in the Batmobile when he's chasing down The Joker or The Scarecrow – the Bat-Bike (aka BatCycle) also comes in handy for street-level chases.

This LEGO version challenges Bat-fans to build the Bat-Bike from The Dark Knight, as well as with a scale model of Christian Bale's incarnation of the superhero.

Robert Pattinson's hero calls his bike The Batcycle in 2022's The Batman, which featured in a memorable chase scene with Catwoman.

Bruce Wayne and his trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth have the ultimate mancave at their disposal.

This tricked-out base for Batman is home to his collection of Bat-gadgets, the Batmobile and his wall-to-wall security cameras to monitor crime in Gotham City.

LEGO's version comes in a handy carrying case that opens up to reveal all of the kit that the Dark Knight uses to prowl in the shadows.

The LEGO Store is offering the Batcave – Shadow Box for £344.99 (the RRP).

If you're not keen to drop £350 for the Batcave, LEGO has another option aimed at younger builders. This child-friendly Batcave sees The Joker escaping from Arkham Asylum to terrorise Batman and Batgirl in their inner sanctum.

The Dynamic Duo can take to the air with a foldable Batwing to combat The Joker Mobile's explosive canons. The Clown Prince of Crime didn't come alone either — a glow-in-the-dark spider minion makes Batman and Batgirl's heroic efforts all the more challenging.

When the League of Assassins and the Court of Owls join forces to wreak havoc in Gotham City, a Batcyle, Batmobile or Batwing might not be enough to stop them.

Batman has gone so far as to don his own Mech Suit in various comics and films — turning himself into a Hulkbuster without having to fight The Hulk. (Multiversal limitations and all!)

This LEGO version comes with a Batarang, stud launchers and a minfigure of the hero that all fit inside the Mech Suit.

The 8-in-1 BrickHeadz version of the Caped Crusader is probably the best value for money. Costume elements from the live-action Batman films, Batman: The Animated Series, the 1960s TV show, and comic variations allow you to mix and match until you have your perfect Batsuit.

Batman's arsenal of weaponry includes Batarangs, the Batcomputer, the Batwing, the Batcycle and, of course, the Batmobile. Now, we can add the BatPen to Bruce Wayne's top-secret inventory.

This unusual Batman accessory is a genuine gel ink pen, with a LEGO minifigure of The Bat fixed on top. The pen boasts no-roll design and comfort grip, because everyone knows Batman's vibe is all about comfort.

The Batman Pen Pal is available from the LEGO Store now for £5.99.

It's not all brooding and fighting for The Batman. As The LEGO Batman Movie showcased, the hero has plenty of charm with the ladies of Gotham City, too. Whether it's Vicki Vale or Selina Kyle, Batman will make time for love provided his leading lady is a little bit mysterious.

The LEGO Batman Movie's Tuxedo Keychain figure is fairly hard to find, but Amazon still has stock for £11.

Who is the Dark Knight without his greatest enemy? The Clown Prince once said that The Joker and Batman seem destined to face each other forever. This year marks the 87th anniversary of The Joker's first appearance in Batman #1 — and there are no signs he's running out of tricks for Bats yet.

LEGO's LED Joker light-up keyring is available from the official store for £13.99.

Dr Harleen Quinzel has a fairly checkered past in Gotham City — she's broken The Joker out of jail countless times as her criminal alter ego Harley Quinn, but she's also backed up Batman whenever Mr J has gone too far.

Along the way, she's endeared herself to legions of comics fans with her one-liners and ever-evolving costume changes.

Batman and Superman have a friendship dating back to the 1940s in DC Comics — maybe it's because their mums are both called Martha?

Over the decades, the two superheroes have had their own shared World's Finest comic and more recently met on the big screen in Zack Snyder's cinematic universe. He might prefer Metropolis to Gotham City, but it's always exciting to see Supes backing up the Bat.
