Ümit Han is a Cologne-based electronic music artist, composer, performer, experimentalist and sound engineer. Since 2006 he has been releasing music on many different labels such as Harthouse, Plastic City and Karmarouge. In 2008, his project BlackIsBeautiful followed on the Cologne-based label 200 Records. At the same time he started to perform national and internationally.
After his sound engineer studies he started his longtime collaboration with Traum Schallplatten in 2011 where he released Ep's, singles and remixes for Minilogue and Max Cooper among others. In recent years he released exclusively conceptual ambient and experimental works on Traum, Trapez, Telrae, the New York label Component Records and also independently on his bandcamp page and well known streaming platforms.
From 2017 to 2022, Ümit Han produced lsb.TV Cologne, an audiovisual, experimental live performance TV show that aired every two weeks on German television. He did also the sound design and music for some different projects like for the German Ministry of Labor and 2022 for the opening film of the 25th International Metropolis Conference in Berlin.
In November 2022 his debut "Sieg Über Das Ungute" was released on Kompakt Records, which can be found on the "Pop Ambient 2023" compilation and is compiled by Wolfgang Voigt.
Ümit has collaborated with many artists such as Mijk van Dijk, Akmusique, Cologne guitarist Dominik von Senger and Berlin School veteran Harald Grosskopf.
