Our story starts like this….
André and Andrade, born José de Freitas Machado and Sebastião de Freitas Machado in the city of ITAGUARI/GO, children of João de Freitas Machado and Maria José Pereira, humble and large family, composed of over 10 brothers, who had their childhoods occupied with the work in the fields. The heavy work performed since the age of six did not take away their pleasure in music or in accompanying and playing the guitar at Folia de Reis parties, accompanied by their father, who was a composer and catireiro.
In 1973 André and Andrade decided that music was the right profession for them, so they decided to follow a new path, in the city of Anápolis/GO, where they were hired by Rádio São Francisco to be part of “Tarde Sertaneja”, a program presented on Fridays. fairs, where they stayed for three years. In their spare time, the duo performed at revelry parties, circuses and playgrounds in the city.
In 1977, with the signing of the RDG label, the opportunity arose to fulfill a dream and fulfill an old promise, recording their first LP, which featured the song “Jesus Cristo Veio ao Mundo”. They recorded four more LPs on the same label, among them “Cama Fria”, which earned them the great and long-awaited “Disco de Ouro” award.
In 1982 they ended their contract with RDG, moving to the Chantecler label, where they stayed for four years and recorded four LPs, “Sinal Fechado”; “Long night; “Love that is worth a million”; and"Loving Hidden". When André & Andrade ended their contract with Chantecler, in 1988, they continued to perform throughout the country and recorded two more independent LPs, one by the Danúbio label, the other by Trisson.
Also in 1988, in a parallel project, together with the presenter Hamilton Carneiro (Frutos da Terra/TV Anhanguera/Rede Globo) and the famous storyteller Geraldinho, they launched the CDs and DVDs “Trova, Prosa e Viola I” and “Trova, Prose and Viola II”.
After this period, in 1997, they made the independent release of the CD “Sete por Três”, highlighting the tracks “Samambaia” and “Mulher Necessidade de Carinho”.
Then, with the support of friends “Gino & Geno” and singer-songwriter Rick, the duo with Renner, André & Andrade recorded the CD “Paixão Caipira” through Warner Continental, highlighting the song “Deixe as Águas Rolar” , and for the participation of the duo “Rick & Renner” in the song “Terra Amada”.
André & Andrade made important participations in the productions of several colleagues, such as: “Rolando Boldrin”, with the song “Ecological Fashion”; on the CD by the singer “Daniel”, with the song “Último dos Carreiros”; on the DVD of the duo “Gino & Geno”, with the song “Estrela de Ouro”; on the CD of the composer “Marrequinho” with “Gotas de Orvalho” and “Três Noites”.
