Amílcar Jesús Boscán Parra (Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela, May 17, 1960) is a Venezuelan singer-songwriter and lawyer, known for been one of the members of the Venezuelan group "Guaco", he remained in the group for five years (from 1979 to 1984), when he began his career as a soloist in the Salsa genre. Among his hits (while he was part of the group) are songs like "Un Cigarrito y un Café", "Cepillao", "Pastelero", "Homenaje a Jesus Lozano", "Adios Miami", "El Billetero", among others.
Amílcar Boscán is also a prolific composer. More than 150 musical works have been professionally recorded using his compositions. In the last 20 years, he has been the most used writer by the legendary Salsa master Willie Colón, for whom he has composed around 18 songs, including "Talento de Televisión" and "Caer en Gracia", both included on the album that served as a reunion between Colón himself and Rubén Blades (1992).
He continues to be very active, both with his participation in events and toueing. This 2023 began with a Tour in Europe. In the same way, Amilcar continues to create and release new songs: in 2022 he brought 3 new creations, where he explored genres from Latin jazz to Salsa Choke. For this year he has several releases scheduled, with which he seeks to continue contributing to Salsa.
