Amazing location in the heart of Osaka. Easy to walk to a lot of the major tourist attractions, and surrounded by some of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. The staff was unbelievably helpful- so much so that they helped call and coordinate with our next hotel (a private ryokan) for our luggage shipment. The bidet and shower situation is out of this world. Breakfast was fantastic every day, and they have a great coffee machine available 24/7 in the lobby.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Whether it be beautiful parks & gardens, a stunning hilltop castle, stunning temples & shrines, or the bright lights and excitement of its ecclectic shopping and market areas, the city of Osaka has something for everyone and should not be missed.

    Where to even start.

Where to even start. Osaka is the centre of Japanese cuisine and even for me with a fish allergy of all things there was still a lot to try. For someone without limitations you can just eat all day long. We visited also Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima for day trips as they are all quite close by train or Shinkansen. Though I have to admit we bit off a bit too much for how long we stayed and did not manage to see nad try all that we wanted to (both me and my wife got slight cold for 2 days though and had to take it easy for a bit). Getting around just on english and few Japanese words was no problem. Both intercity and national trains are very simple to use once you understand the system (get JR pass and Suica/Icoca card for maximum comfort). I recommend getting extra empty luggage, you will easily fill it for your trip back whetter it is by toys, plushies, snacks, clothes.. you name it. If you are from anywhere but US, do not miss out on a 1-2 day visit to USJ.

There are a little too many expensive department stores and branded stores. Some more affordable shops would be great for travellers on a budget. We loved exploring the street food. Had some amazing meals. Osaka is in good walking distance to most things. The train service is reliable.

Osaka is a great place to stay. Remember the Bullet Train is around $150AUD in 2024 to get to Tokyo, that is a must for Disneyland. Osaka is full of things for family and adults, cheaper than Tokyo and is peaceful! Remember Universal Studios!!

It was extremely crowded especially in the trains. The number of tourists in Osaka has grown exponentially in the past years. Quite tiresome to go there especially if you have small children. Osaka Aquarium was big and nice, however, the crowds make it a bit suffocating. Decided not to go to USJ as we assume the crowds would be even worse there. On a positive side, the Halal all-you-can-eat at Zerohachi Yakiniku was extremely worth it for it's price.

We had a great time experiencing the neon lights, food and street life of Dotonbori. We ate the typical regional food Okonomiyaki at a little restaurant called Yakizen, Go!! absolutely delicious, highly recommend the restaurant ! They also serve Modan-yaki and more! It's a small place and you will probably have to wait for a table but it's well worth it. We also took a fun boat ride on the Dontonbori canal which was fun to see all the neon signs lit up at night along the canal.

Great location located near Shin-Osaka Station, very convenient for travel to locations like Kyoto or for Shinkansen. Short walk to other lines for about 20-30 min ride to Namba/Osaka Station (for Den Den Town or Dottonbori) or to Nara. My 2nd APA hotel during my first trip to Japan, seems like a reliable hotel chain. There is a vending machine for milk right outside the onsen on the 2nd floor. The TV in the room also had casting and free VODs. There are also quite a few familymart convenience stores and other restaurants nearby.

The hotel is perfectly located in central Osaka just 5 min walk from Namba station. I got a double beds room so just a bit larger than the Japanese standard anyway quite, comfortable and super clean. The front desk staff is outstanding they are helpful and so kind. The morning breakfast is fair with enough choices to get started in the best way. I spent 6 nights so enough to enjoy this excellent hotel. I highly recommend it!

Cool upscale version of a capsule hotel. A bit on the pricier side for capsule hotels, but is justified through the amenities and large individual living space. Also extremely close to Dotonbori and other major tourist sties in Osaka!
