Cardiff City Women’s Champions League campaign came to an end with a 2-0 defeat against ŽFK Ljuboten.

The Welsh champions had been beaten 7-0 by hosts FC Twente in the Champions League first qualifying round during the week.

In the qualifying tournament’s third-place match on Saturday, Cardiff were on top for most of the game against the North Macedonian side.

But two breakaway goals scored in either half by Hava Mustafa secured the win for ŽFK Ljuboten.

FC Twente sealed their place in the next round of the competition in a 5-0 win over Icelandic side Valur.
