Crop circle appears in Dorset countryside

A photographer has captured aerial images of a crop circle that has appeared in the Dorset countryside.

Lewis Johnstone took his drone to the field near Badbury Rings, Blandford, after spotting a post on social media.

It is not known who - or what - created the pattern, which is believed to have appeared in the cornfield some time last week.

Mr Johnson said he hoped to capture more crop circle images in the future.

The photographer and videographer captured the images on Sunday afternoon but did not know when the circle was made.

He said: "I assume it's fairly recent as there has been very little media attention about it.

"I saw a post on a local Facebook group."

The location is close to the site of previous crop circles which have appeared in previous years.

The Country, Land and Business Association said crop circles destroyed crops and described the phenomena as criminal damage.
