I don't see how this possibly can continue, with true rhetorical purpose, but on the other hand, as a stand alone novel, I truly appreciate the choices the author made, and the path he had the protagonist go down.

Wil Wheaton, it should be obvious, was effing phenomenal.

I read both iterations of his Sci fi cycles, and I can't deny they had merit. That said, I only read those because of his great Star Wars novels.

In any case, he uses the same POV trope of his Eldar (pardon if I forget the fire/ice/tree space opera name, and sans Google, I'll give it Eldar because I remember it as such) novels, but the actual characters and story is so much better, gripping, and worth going though. I was just as annoyed going from character to character, but in this case, it's because I actually cared about them.

Worth the credit? Absolutely, no question asked. Not sure id purchase it, but I only use credits.

The perfect ending to the best in the genre; I just hope fans can convince Mr Hayes to continue writing in this universe!

I hope I'm not in the minority, but I both agreed with those who loved the first book, and think that this surpasses that effort.

The titular problems are objectively, memetically disqualifying by their very existence. BOSWELL was famous enough for these journals to be examined. He became famous because of his meticulously detailed Life of Johnson, and these journals are of similar literary significance. The two year period of my paper Boswells London Journal was dense, long, and had several narrative digressions (his attempts to purchase a military commission as an officer, the underlying fact that his Scottishness made him overcompensate esp relating to his tyrant, the 8th Laird and his father, his daliences and use of odd prophylaxis,

OK, Drew Hayes Is only equalled by Brandon Sanderson. From Years 1, which I bought on a park and was absolutely flabbergasted by by the third chapter, forward I've purchased and eagerly awaited.

Other than to beg you to read these novels, the only things I've to say is, now that Year 3 FINALLY is out, fans might want to reevaluate when they read Corpies (a side project which, much to my consternation at the time, was released between Years 2 and 3), reading order wise. Without spoiling anything, I'd say the timeline suggests it'd be more helpful to read Corpies (which is essential, btw, because, again, Hayes is like Sanderson in apparently being unable to write a bad novel) between 2 and 3, though certainly not after 3. Just a heads up. Amazing, wonderful, essential... Keep the book lengths this long, Mr Hayes. This rivals Stormlight Archives in my mind and, I'd bet dollars to nickels, many Fantasy fans.

I would point to the authors philosophical background and narrative ease to counterpoint Robert Jordan (military) and Brandon Sanderson (jack of all) the two authors most commonly attributed analogues. Please leave reviews so books 2 and 3 will more quickly be released.

I just wanted to say to the unwary reader that you, like me, should punch through the "twist" that occurs. I got this on the advise of a friend so didn't know anything about it, but after it occurred I heard it caused some readers to throw their books at the wall or, since this is audible, to hit stop the hook and move on.

I am here to implore you not to hit stop and move on, since I was well past said point in the book and, with the gift granted by hindsight, I saw that it wasn't a twist at all, and that it was needed, and without it, the book wouldn't make sense. That said, I would say you need to be at least 45 minutes past "twist" before you should allow yourself to pass judgement.

Affer all, there simply can't be an M Night Shyamalan moment. This is literature disguised as an entertainment, not the other way around.

This series should be predictable, derivative and, at best, an entertainment. What it actually is, I posit to you, is nothing short of revelatory.
