posted on by Andrew Osmond
ANN has been informed that the Studio Ghibli film From Up On Poppy Hill will be shown on Sky Movies Box Office from September 23. The film is already listed on the Sky Movies website.
Adapted from the shōjo manga Kokuriko-Zaka Kara by Chizuru Takahashi and Tetsurō Sayama, From Up On Poppy Hill follows a group of 1960s Yokohama teens in their bid to stop the demolition of their school's clubhouse, while two of the students have an increasingly close friendship. It is directed by Goro Miyazaki and co-written by his father, Hayao Miyazaki.
The film had a limited U.K. cinema release in both dubbed and subbed versions earlier this month, and is still screening at some cinemas. For example, the Prince Charles Cinema in London's Leicester Square is screening the subtitled version until August 22.
