Triumphant Ending

This is the first movie I saw in a theater after the pandemic. I like it even better than the first Top Gun movie. I have now seen it over 25 times. It has become a “comfort movie” and it cheers me up when I am feeling “down”. It’s about miracles happening. I have read so many reviews that make it all about “glorifying the military” and I have a very different perspective. This is an important cultural “fairy tale” story. Like Star Trek, the military is only the setting. This is an incredible story of a miraculous redemption. Watch the first Top Gun movie. Then watch this one. And then, when it really matters, don’t give up, don’t take no for an answer, believe in the miracle you require. Believe in your team. Make that miracle come true. Whatever it is. Perhaps this sounds simplistic, but I don’t care because I think it’s simply a great movie. And filled with so much amazing dialog that sneaks into ordinary, everyday conversations. (“I don’t like that look, Mav.” “It’s the only one I got”.) So few movies now allow us to feel triumphant at the end, that’s worth something.

I bought this dvd for a present. Did not know that I needed to have a special 4k dvd player b/c it does not state this.. that is my only complaint. I will get the correct dvd player and finally watch the movie.. just should have said when ordering

Does this tell a familiar story? Yes. Does it pay "homage" to the first one, yes, in more ways than one. Is it more realistically filmed than the first one? Absolutely. Except... maybe not at the beginning. The work and research into this move are evident. I'm sure it's not 100% accurate, but it is fun, somewhat cheesy, but believable. Oh, and they did it without a whole slough of social agenda and commentary! I haven't had that much fun and enjoyment in a movie for a long time. If this makes a difference, it's rating compared to the PG rated original is slightly deceiving as the language and sex in this one is much less. They drop an f-bomb in this one though which is an automatic PG-13 rating. Fun, entertaining, and rewatchable!

An Amazing sequel which can stand alone without having seen the first one even though it helps (makes it more emotional). A truly fantastic story that continuous perfectly from the first one and connects to it perfectly. I am glad it took this long to make the sequel, thinking that if we would have gotten a sequel to Top Gun back in the day it would have been just a quick money grab story of another war with some other country. In Top Gun Maverick however, besides the amazing flight scenes, the story is what movies should be, entertaining, without some message being shoved down our throats. For me, Top Gun Maverick is easily one of the top ten movies of the last 2 to 3 decades.

Top Gun MAVERICK is the blockbuster of all blockbusters. The movie is produced perfectly from start to finish. Everything was perfectly delivered. The 3cinematography and visuals was really well researched and splendidly filmed with the perfect subject focus, correct angles and lighting effect. The production was absolute perfection with Tom Cruise calling the shots. The soundtrack is the best ever, beautiful and fits the scene and moods ideally. A truly masterful work of art by the soundtrack masters Hans Zimmer, and Harold Faltermeyer. And Lady Gaga added the wonderful finishing touches at the end of the movie. The casting was definitely on point with the perfect stars playing the ideal character. The editing was amazing. Tom Cruise's supporting cast delivers a spectacular spot on performance. And see a few big egos get put in check along the way. You will see character development and growth.
The movie starts by playing the Top Gun Anthem, moving right into the Danger Zone while watching flight deck operations launching the powerful F-18 fighter jet. See the jets being catapulted 300 feet from zero to 165 mph in 2 seconds during launching. Hear their roar, and actually feel the rumble of the afterburners blazing fire as they're climbing skyward. With several cameras mounted in the cockpit of the jets, you feel like you are actually in the cockpit pulling G's, and making hairpin turns with the pilot . You may need a barf bag! 🤮 See the greatest flying scenes ever filmed. The movie is sheer excitement and suspense. You will be on the edge of your seat throughout the movie. The action is non-stop. You will see nail-biting, palm-sweating, and jaw-dropping action and adventure like never seen before. The excitement will leave you breathless, you will only be able to say," WOW "😲. The movie features flashbacks from Top Gun 1 that will bring back plenty of nostalgia and emotional memories. This movie is put together so well. Phenomenal work!
The scene where Val Kilmer makes a special guest appearance is very heart-warming and emotional because everyone loves Val Kilmer. Welcome back Val!! Thanks for all the great memories!! Special homage is given to the beloved Goose because everyone loves and misses him so much. Talk to me Goose! He remains with all of us in spirit.
Seems nobody trusts or believes in Maverick. But watch him prove them all wrong. He puts all doubters in check.
The final mission scene will certainly blow your senses away with intense and emotional scenes like explosions, crashes, and teamwork. Maverick's incredible dog-fighting skills and flying skills are put to the test. He pushes the jet to it's absolute limits with incredible evasive and aggressive maneuvers. This is an amazing action and adventure scene. The dog-fighting, and air-combat scenes are superbly filmed. Your emotions will be on a wild rollercoaster ride. You will be laughing, next moment you are crying, then someone's cockiness, arrogance and big ego will really anger you. 😡🤬 This is one of the most emotional movies you will ever see

The closing scene is so beautiful and romantic with the perfect and meaningful song from Lady Gaga. Now Maverick can fly off into the sunset and live happily ever after!! A truly great ending with emotional flare!! Have a tissue handy!! 🥲
This movie is a true Masterpiece. It was mentioned that this is possibly one of the best movies ever filmed. This is reflected at the world box office. The receipts are insanely high figures.
