To create the state of Israel, Zionist forces attacked major Palestinian cities and destroyed more than 530 Palestinian villages. In 1948, approximately 13,000 Palestinians were killed and more than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes, becoming refugees. This was the climax of Zionist ethnic cleansing. Today, Palestinian refugees and their descendants number more than seven million. Many still languish in refugee camps in neighbouring Arab countries, waiting to return to their homeland.
