Tremor

A tremor is an involuntary, somewhat rhythmic, muscle contraction and relaxation involving oscillations or twitching movements of one or more body parts. It is the most common of all involuntary movements and can affect the hands, arms, eyes, face, head, vocal folds, trunk, and legs. Most tremors occur in the hands. In some people, a tremor is a symptom of another neurological disorder. A very common tremor is the teeth chattering, usually induced by cold temperatures or by fear.

Causes

Tremor can be a symptom associated with disorders in those parts of the brain that control muscles throughout the body or in particular areas, such as the hands. Neurological disorders or conditions that can produce tremor including multiple sclerosis, stroke, traumatic brain injury, chronic kidney disease and a number of neurodegenerative diseases that damage or destroy parts of the brainstem or the cerebellum, Parkinson's disease being the one most often associated with tremor. Other causes include the use of drugs (such as amphetamines, cocaine, caffeine, corticosteroids, SSRI), alcohol, mercury poisoning; or the withdrawal of drugs such as alcohol or benzodiazepine. Tremors can also be seen in infants with phenylketonuria (PKU), overactive thyroid or liver failure. Tremors can be an indication of hypoglycemia, along with palpitations, sweating and anxiety. Tremor can also be caused from lack of sleep, lack of vitamins, or increased stress. Deficiencies of magnesium and thiamine have also been known to cause tremor or shaking, which resolves when the deficiency is corrected. See magnesium in biology. Some forms of tremor are inherited and run in families, while others have no known cause. Tremors can also be caused by some spider bites, e.g. the redback spider of Australia.

List of Mortal Kombat characters

This is a list of playable characters from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series and the games in which they appear. The series takes place in a fictional universe composed of six realms, which were created by the Elder Gods. The Elder Gods created a fighting tournament called Mortal Kombat to reduce the wars between the realms. The first Mortal Kombat game introduces a tournament in which Earthrealm can be destroyed if it loses once again.

The Earthrealm warriors manage to defeat the champion Goro and tournament host Shang Tsung, but this leads Tsung to search for other ways to destroy Earthrealm. Since then, every game features a new mortal who wishes to conquer the realms, therefore violating the rules of Mortal Kombat. By Mortal Kombat: Deception, most of the main characters had been killed by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi (neither of whom were playable in the game), but by Mortal Kombat: Armageddon all of them return.

Essential tremor

Essential tremor (ET, also referred to as benign tremor or familial tremor) is the most common movement disorder; its cause is unknown. It typically involves a tremor of the arms, hands or fingers but sometimes involving the head, vocal cords or other body parts during voluntary movements such as eating and writing. It is distinct from Parkinson's disease—and often misdiagnosed as such—although some individuals have both conditions. Essential tremor is commonly described as an action tremor (it intensifies when one tries to use the affected muscles) or postural tremor (present with sustained muscle tone) rather than a resting tremor, such as is seen in Parkinson’s, which is usually not included among its symptoms.

Classification

This type of tremor is often referred to as "kinetic tremor".

Essential tremor has been known as "benign essential tremor", but the adjective "benign" has been removed in recognition of the sometimes disabling nature of the disorder.

Signs and symptoms

Tremor (comics)

Tremor is a fictional character from the comic book series, Spawn. He is a former Mafia enforcer and associate of Antonio "Tony Twist" Twistelli, the Don of New York, and is now a vigilante seeking revenge on The Family.

Background

Richard Masullo was always the muscle, from his days with his brother David till his time with Twist. When he wanted out of the mob Twistelli had him captured and shipped to Germany where he was used as the guinea pig for Project: TREMOR, the mafia's first attempt to create a supersoldier. This was the predecessor of the highly successful OvertKill project. Richard was subjected to numerous experiments, mostly gene manipulation but spliced with some cybernetics. The result appeared more demonic than human. The newly dubbed "Tremor" was a failure, as his free will and disgust for what he had become overwhelmed any type of loyalty he had for the mafia. As a result, Twist killed the rest of Tremor's family except for his brother David. Not long afterwards an enraged Tremor broke free from the laboratory. Twist told David that Tremor was the one who slaughtered his family, including Richard, and David went to work hunting Tremor across the globe.

Tremor (software)

Tremor by the Xiph.Org Foundation is a fixed-point version of the Vorbis decoder for those platforms without floating point operations.

It is a software library that decodes the Vorbis audio format. It is free software released under the New BSD license. Tremor uses fixed-point and movable-point arithmetic numeric representations in its implementation so that it can be used by small embedded devices, which typically do not have floating-point processors. Thus, Tremor enables small embedded devices to play audio files stored in the Vorbis format. Tremor was originally developed by Xiph.Org as a part of a contract for the Iomega HipZip, but was since opened up to encourage wider use of the Vorbis format. Almost all hardware devices that can play Vorbis, and many software implementations on embedded devices (such as mobile phones) use Tremor or some descendant.

Xiph.Org has expressed interest in modifying Tremor into a floating-point version, which would replace the current floating-point reference decoder, after the release of libogg2.

Act Right

by: Teairra Mari

Do you, do you have any idea what you do, do
So on point you make a liar tell the truth, truth
And on the low the hood is buzzin' over you but baby I got ya
I'm talking square business
I'm too cool to be gone like this
After only a movie and a kiss
Baby you're the one, it's almost too much
But I can't get enough, I promise to stay in pocket
Oh my, you got the bang to make a girl wanna act right
If I put my money on you every time, I know I'd bet right
Checkin' my call log to see if I missed your call
When I was in the shower boy you got that act right
The way you love me I swear that it's a life changer
If I was a dude, homie you would get all my paper
Don't know what to do with you, OD'ing over you
But I think I like it, boy you've got that
Oh, oh, look at me, I'm out of control
Cell phone is dead so I'm going to the corner store, store
To check my voice mail on the pay phone
Hope you left the message
Baby you're out cold, cold
Wanna say you're the shit
But boy you're much more, more
What the streets call the reason
Baby you're the one, it's almost too much
But I can't get enough, I promise to stay in pocket
Oh my, you got the bang to make a girl wanna act right
If I put my money on you every time I know I'd bet right
Checkin' my call log to see if I missed your call
When I was in the shower boy you got that act right
The way you love me, I swear that it's a life changer
If I was a dude, homie you would get all my paper
Don't know what to do with you OD'ing over you
But I think I like it, boy you've got that
Ooh, never thought a hood chick could feel like I do
Writing to the sky boy about you
In the daytime with a flashlight looking for you
Oh baby, baby
Ooh, never thought a hood chick could feel like I do
Writing to the sky boy about you
In the daytime with a flashlight looking for you
Oh baby, baby
Oh my, you got the bang to make a girl wanna act right
If I put my money on you every time I know I'd bet right
Checkin' my call log to see if I missed your call
When I was in the shower boy you got that act right
The way you love me I swear that it's a life changer
If I was a dude, homie you would get all my paper
Don't know what to do with you, oh do you know for you
