Happy new year everyone!!! So it’s a new year = a new set of adventures waiting to be had for 2014. This blog was ‘sort’ of abandoned last year due to my really, really hectic running schedule and personal life commitments. But it’s never been far from my mind to update what’s been happening to me throughout the year. I just couldn’t find the time to write. There are so many great personal experiences from last year that have gone unshared from my point. Many high points, some low points makes for a great 2013 in terms of running for me.
Hence, one of my resolution for this year is to keep this blog updated and going through the year. Hope to share my race experiences and some learning points that I’ve gained during training. Plan for the year is to join less races, instead focusing more on ultra marathon distance events and training. The highlight of the year is surely ‘the road to Comrades Marathon’, an 89km ultramarathon in South Africa. So far I’ve also signed up for the following races:
- Watergate 16 hours Run (4 – 5 January)
- Titi 100km Road Ultramarathon (16-17 February)
- Twilight Ultra Challenge 16 hours (29 March)
- Sabah Adventure Challenge (18-20 April) **multi-stage race covering 75-100km
- Comrades Marathon (1 June)
People have said in passing that I must’ve gone crazy to sign up for 5 ultra races even before the year really started. Little surprise for myself though, since I really love doing long distance races. Just hoping my legs could take all the pounding. Here I’m also taking this opportunity to wish all my friends best of luck for whatever goal they are hoping to achieve in terms of running for 2014. Signing off… keep coming back whenever you’re free to check on what I’ve been up to for the year.
PS: I may retroactively go back in time and update past race reports whenever I can find time to fiddle with my time machine 🙂
