Carrie Fernandes

Carrie Fernandes is an Intern on the United Nation Foundation’s Climate and Environment Team, where she leads greenhouse gas emissions accounting and offsetting efforts. She also supports the team’s work across food and climate, ocean action, and climate resilience by conducting research and preparing materials on current and emerging international policy issues. Carrie earned a master’s in environmental science and policy from the Columbia University Climate School and the School of International and Public Affairs. For her capstone project with the Environmental Defense Fund, Carrie worked to produce science-driven research and actionable recommendations for investors by translating environmental and climate justice issues into material risks and opportunities across industries. Prior to graduate school, Carrie worked on the Operations and People Team at Boston Consulting Group, where she enhanced internal processes and increased engagement with green initiatives. Carrie holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
