1898 wedding gown with note saying bride did not wear it.

One of the most beautiful Edwardian wedding gowns I have ever seen. Handmade by angels. It's two pieces. A skirt with train and a corset top with ruched silk chiffon sleeves with a gathered chiffon cap at to them at the shoulders The fabric is a heavy duchess silk satin. The skirt is lined in a silk taffeta which is actually sewn to the fabric and scalloped at the hemline. (See last photos) Large folds in the skirt give it a sculpted appearance. The back is gathered and forms a train and even has a hidden pocket in the bustle area on one side. (Perfect for hiding a mobile phone or handkerchief) You could easily make the skirt larger as there is so much gathering and pleating. The corset top is heavily boned and lined and the underarms have protectors in them- so much hand stitching. Ruching at the corset closure which connects with hooks and eyes, then decorated with elaborate bows.Now I wasn't sure whether the ruching and bows go at the front or at the back so I show both options in the photos. If the ruching is at the front it would be a low cut square front. I will let the purchaser decide. The bodice is covered in pleating and folds which glow and create shades that in this fabric are divine. A note was attached to the hemline. It says '1898 Wedding dress. Skirt. not worn as Ellen was 'married in her bonnet'. I think it means she eloped. In amazing beautiful condition for an outfit of this era with minor issues. Dust and faint spotting stains at hem and where skirt was folded (see last photos) faint spotting on one bow (see photos) and wear on one cuff with a hole. (See last photo) The best news is that it's not super tiny. It just the most perfect bride outfit. It has obviously been preserved away very carefully as it's condition is amazing. Please ask fir more photos if you need them. I would say size small 8-10 but please go by measurements.
