𝕊𝕒𝕣𝕒 𝔹𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕜 ℂ𝕖𝕣𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕔𝕤 on Instagram: "Welcome to the painting part of my mug making process. 🤩  After the mug is thrown, trimmed, and handled, I apply 2-3 layers of slip (depending on how thick it goes on). This mug has pink slip on it.   After the slip dries on the mug, I begin laying out my pattern and then apply two layers of underglaze to each shape in the pattern. The handle and solid band on the bottom portion can sometimes require closer to 3-4 layers of underglaze since I don’t apply any slip on those area beforehand and also because I’ll sand them quite a bit after the all the firings are complete.   It was so hard to squeeze all of these simple, but essential steps into a 90 second reel! I was pretty tempted to leave the transfer off this one and let the underglaze shine but this transfer works so well I couldn’t resist. Should I do a series of just underglaze/no transfers?"
