The standard ceiling height in a home is 2.4 meters (about 8 feet). However, it’s typically closer to 2,440 millimeters (96.06 inches), so it’s rarely exactly 2.4 meters 🙌

This slight difference can make tiling up to the ceiling challenging. You might need to buy extra tiles to balance the top and bottom cuts, however this may affect cuts around windows and doors, or you’ll have to accept having a narrow strip of tile near the ceiling.

For a more polished look, what we do is remove the ceiling and lower it to around 2,390 millimeters (94.09 inches) by adding battens.
