Camden Road in the early 1900s. corner of Garden Road where World of Sewing is now prior to which small Co-op grocery existed in 60's& 70's which we patronised

This is Royal College Street, north of Camden Road with a trolleybus travelling to Parliament Hill Fields having just passed under the North London Line bridges. Amazingly, Castles pie and mash shop is still doing business 50 years after the top photo, by Michael Dryhurst, was taken. This road was two-way then, but with cars parked more or less permanently either side of the road, the change to one-way traffic was inevitable. Although the row of shops look quite smart-ish today, it's a shame…

The ABC building , Camden road 1980. Aerated Bread Company had a chain of tea houses. There were double the number of ABC dining houses in London than the better-known Lyons Corner Houses. Demolished for the Sainsbury’s 1982.

Camden Road Tunbridge Wells 1950s?

A companion piece to pic 207, this view shows the main junction at Camden Town tube station taken from a similar high position, but this time in Parkway, close to where the Jazz Cafe is now. The camera is looking towards Camden Road in the distance, with Camden High Street running across the centre. On the extreme left, a bus in Parkway sits behind a Huntley & Palmer's van.
