‘Squid Game’ Season 2 has topped the viewership charts with a whopping 68 million views in its debut and trending at #1 in 92 countries, breaking the record for the most watched show in its premiere week as well as the most popular list. The new season started streaming on December 26, 2024, three years after the first season.
The first season has 265.2 million views, but the succeeding season managed to break the records and land at the most popular non-English language TV titles of all time at No. 7, according to Variety. The milestones were achieved when most of the fans commented on the official Instagram handle’s posts stating that as they await ‘season 3’, they binge-watched the entire season in less than twenty-four hours. However, some of the viewers seemed disappointed in the newly aired season after comparing it with the previous one. Nonetheless, actions speak louder than words, and the reels with ‘Squid Game’ characters are seen trending on various social media platforms.
The cast of ‘Squid Game’ season 2 is Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), Lee Byung-hun as The Front Man, Wi Ha-jun as Hwang Jun-ho, Yim Si-wan as Myung-gi (Player 333), Kang Ha-neul as Dae-ho (Player 388), Lee Jin-uk as Gyeong-seok (Player 246), Park Sung-hoon as Hyun-ju (Player 120), Jo Yuri as Jun-hee (Player 222), Choi Seung-hyun as Thanos (Player 230), and Gong Yoo as The Recruiter, among many others.
