Stars of Hallmark's film, Andrew Walker and
Ashley Williams, who paired up for the holiday movie 'Jingle Bell Run' that came out on November 16, shared the comical and awkward experience of filming their on-screen smooching. In an interview with 'People' magazine, Walker joked about the weirdness of shooting romantic scenes, especially when you're friendly with your co-star. "This is the circus. It's a freak show," he said, adding that while he's used to it now, it still feels odd when you know the other person well. Walker, who is friends with Williams' husband, noted that filming the kiss at the end of the week made it all the more "strange."
Not only do the two share an on-screen romance, but they are also neighbors in real life. Williams and Walker, their spouses in tow, worked with 'Dance Party to End Alzheimer's'. The children are both loved close friends; each of the actors has a son close in age whom the other loves. "It was a dream come true," Williams said, marveling that in all the years she and Walker have been next-door neighbors, this is the first time they've ever appeared together in a movie.
The producer is married to
Neal Dodson, and they have two sons, Gus, 10, and Odie, 7. Walker is married to Cassandra Troy, and they have two sons: West, 10, and Wolf, 4. As West discovered that the son of his dad's co-star was talking about this kissing scene in 'Jingle Bell Run', he said with a sassy comment, Walker and Gus’s mom would be making out ,Walker laughed at the thought, joking, "The 9-year-old gossip train! We made it on there!''
"The fact that they said 'making out' makes me think they don't understand at all," said Williams, referring to the fact that the kids didn't appear to fully comprehend what was taking place.
Walker says his sons go comically wild when kiss scenes come in any of his movies if his family happens to watch them. His 4-year-old son would either say nothing or physically "hurt" him after watching the kiss. In the playful banter, both the actors gave a glimpse of how much fun it was to work together and the real-life friendship being brought to the screen. 'Jingle Bell Run' is currently streaming on Peacock where viewers can catch the enchanting holiday movie and the on-screen chemistry between Walker and Williams.
