KCF to celebrate decennial on May 19
Mangaluru: The Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF), an NGO dedicated to supporting Kannadigas in Gulf countries is set to celebrate its decennial anniversary at Adyar Garden on Sunday.
The foundation has planned a variety of events to mark the occasion, including a mass marriage for 10 underprivileged couples, the construction of houses for 10 needy families, an NRI meet, a students’ convention, and an excellency meet for educationists and industrialists.
DP Yusuf Sakafi, the president of KCF International Forum, told reporters here on Thursday, that the foundation boasts a membership of over 12,000 individuals across the Gulf countries, Britain, and Malaysia. The organisation extends its support to Kannadigas whenever they face difficulties, such as hospitalisation, employer harassment, imprisonment, and even the repatriation of deceased individuals to their native places.
“Thousands of Kannadigas who have gone out in search of jobs face various problems. We reach out to people in crisis without any religion and caste discrimination. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the foundation arranged 15 chartered flights to bring back thousands of people back home safely,” he said. tnn
