Plot

Having arrived on Cybertron, Optimus Prime rendezvous with Bumblebee so they can break into the Decepticon base. Bumblebee falls into a trap in the process, and Optimus must team up with Sentinel Prime to rescue him. As they will need explosives to infiltrate the base, Jazz practices laying explosives, and Ratchet joins the team to help by repairing terminals so that Bumblebee can hack them. The Autobots finally breach the base and track down the Optimus Prime kit parts, so that Ratchet can put them together.

Gameplay

The game is a side-scrolling platformer, along the same theme as Transformers Animated: The Game — each Autobot has his own ability and the player switches between them by pressing the appropriate number, using the abilities together to complete the level. Various hazards present challenges in each level, and there are 10 coins per level to collect. If a character is killed, they respawn back at their start spot, which is often a loooooong way back.

Optimus has the ability to punch things which are very close, Bumblebee can hack terminals to cause lifts to rise and fall, Jazz can plant explosive devices which destroy certain walls, Ratchet can fix broken terminals, Sentinel Prime has a shield which can block weapons fire and that other characters can stand on, and finally Sideswipe has the power of double jump, allowing him to reach coins the others can't. All characters can also pick up weapons which are present in some levels, allowing them to shoot Decepticons. Sideswipe is only unlocked once the levels have been played through once, but then is available on all levels.

Notes

  • Hints are dispensed by Teletraan, which looks exactly like the Autobot probe from the Transformers Animated episode "Transform and Roll Out".
  • There seem to be a heck of a lot of Starscream.
  • There also seem to be a heck of a lot of bugs and spelling errors in the text.
