Need some help for the same genus name in Plantae and Animalia

[edit]

I found a case when trying to implement a genus Centronia in Ctenuchida, that there was already a Centronia genus in Plantae (Melastomaceae). Initially I thought there was a need to fix this redundancy, but it finally appears to me that it may be allowed to have the same genus in Animalia and Plantae. I found a case already treated in Wikispecies with the genus Robinsonia, where there is the same name in Plantae and Animalia. There is a disambiguation page, therefore I think we would need to do the same for Centronia. I have created the genus Centronia in Ctenuchida such that: "Centronia (Hubner)". Now I think we should rename in wikispecies the Melastomaceae genus in order to get "Centronia (xxxx)" to distinguish. But I do not want to do that on my own, as I imagine there are links with the already present Centronia genus in Plantae. Can a more cognizant guy do this change in the Centronia genus in Plantae? And establish a disambiguation page? All the best, Dherbin (talk) 20:50, 19 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Dherbin: yes homonyms are only code specific so there are manuy plants and animals with the same name, within codes not allowed but cross code is ok. I have made a disambiguation page Centronia, also have edited / created the pages Centronia (Erebidae) and Centronia (Merianieae). Made edits to higher orders as relevant also. I could not find the full ref for Hubner 1818 so this needs to be added. Its monotypic so I can assume its only species is the type species. I did delete one page, its preferable to make the name the genus (Family) rather than Genus (Author) so I have made them conistent. I also edited and created the relevant tamplates for the taxonavigation and set them to point correctly. All up it should be fine for you to continue now. Hi Scott,
I have a difficulty: A very recent publication raised several new genera names in Apatelodidae. One of them is:
Taxonavigation: Bombycoidea

Superregnum: Eukaryota
Cladus: Unikonta
Cladus: Opisthokonta
Cladus: Holozoa
Regnum: Animalia
Subregnum: Eumetazoa
Cladus: Bilateria
Cladus: Nephrozoa
Cladus: Protostomia
Cladus: Ecdysozoa
Cladus: Panarthropoda
Phylum: Arthropoda
Cladus: Pancrustacea
Cladus: Allotriocarida
Subphylum: Hexapoda
Classis: Insecta
Cladus: Dicondylia
Subclassis: Pterygota
Infraclassis: Neoptera
Cladus: Eumetabola
Cladus: Holometabola
Superordo: Panorpida
Cladus: Amphiesmenoptera
Ordo: Lepidoptera
Subordo: Glossata
Cladus: Coelolepida
Cladus: Myoglossata
Cladus: Neolepidoptera
Infraordo: Heteroneura
Cladus: Eulepidoptera
Cladus: Ditrysia
Cladus: Apoditrysia
Cladus: Obtectomera
Cladus: Macroheterocera
Superfamilia: Bombycoidea

Familia: Apatelodidae
Genus: Zapata
.

I entered this name, and made a Template:Zapata where I linked to Apatelodidae.
But it still links to a list of people with names Zapata.
How to proceed to get a proper genus Zapata within Apatelodidae that does not go to this list of people?
