Happy USerlandia Independence Day

The official USerlandia Independence Day date is today. Or is it March 4th when the Treaty of Paris – September 3 1783 was ratified by the USerlandia Senate in 1784? Hmm.. It certainly was not the fourth day of July.

Isetta 1959

My brother-in-law just donated his 1959 BMW Isetta to the Savoy Automobile Museum, Cartersville, Georgia.

ALT text: The segment begins with a bright blue microcar driving on a residential street. The surroundings include stone walls and neatly manicured lawns, suggesting a suburban neighborhood. The car slowly makes its way down the street, gradually approaching a red trailer parked by the roadside.

Berry Time

Harvested Sweetheart blueberries in the backyard and picked blackberries down the street. Grandma and grandson baking muffins this afternoon.

ALT text: The image shows a collection of berries placed on a textured cloth, which is laid out on a granite surface. In the upper section of the cloth, there is a cluster of blackberries, which are larger and have a bumpy surface. They are densely packed together, with some scattered around the main cluster. Below the blackberries, there is a spread of blueberries, which are smaller and smoother in appearance. Among the blueberries, there are a few green berries interspersed, indicating varying stages of ripeness. The blueberries are more spread out compared to the blackberries, covering a larger area of the cloth. The cloth itself has a subtle herringbone pattern, and the granite surface beneath it is visible along the edges.

ALT text: A hand is holding a wooden bowl filled with blueberries. The bowl is positioned in the foreground of the image, and the hand is visible from the wrist down, with the thumb and fingers wrapped around the bowl. The blueberries are of varying sizes, with some showing a slight reddish hue, indicating ripeness. In the background, there is a dense cluster of green foliage, likely blueberry bushes, with leaves that are oval-shaped and arranged along thin stems. The ground beneath the bushes is covered with wood chips and scattered leaves.

Minecraft: The Great Wild | Forests (Nature Documentary)

ALT text: The image depicts a scene from the video game Minecraft. In the foreground, there is a blocky representation of a bee hovering above a red flower. The bee has a yellow body with black stripes and white wings. The flower is positioned on a grassy terrain, which is part of a larger landscape consisting of various blocks. Surrounding the bee and flower are blocks of grass and dirt, forming a small elevated area. In the background, there are several trees with blocky trunks and leaves, including a birch tree with a distinct white trunk. The scene is set in a forested area, with the trees and grass blocks creating a natural environment typical of the game.

Sunday Madness

Sunday morning of beach volleyball finals.
Video by wife.

Dear Suzy

Suzy crossed the Rainbow Bridge ten years ago today to play with her pals. Not forgotten. Stilled missed. Still loved.

ALT Text: The image shows a dog with medium-length fur, predominantly brown with lighter tan markings on its face and chest. The dog’s fur is slightly tousled, particularly around the ears and head. It is wearing a collar with a heart-shaped tag and another tag that appears to be a flower shape. The dog is positioned in the foreground, with its head turned to the side, looking into the distance. The background is a clear blue sky, and the dog is situated on grass, which is visible at the bottom of the image. The perspective is slightly low, capturing the dog from a ground-level angle.

Cannot Fix Stupid

Due to the rise of stupidity in USerlandia I am moving to Minecraft. No passport needed. Residency requirements are easily met.

“The Rise and Legacy of Boomboxes: An 80s Music Icon Explored”

Interesting. During 1969 and 1970 while stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base I carried a radio/tape recorder around the streets of Anchorage. There was so much good music at the time I didn’t want to miss a new tune broadcast on the radio. Of course I played and replayed my mixes. I remember my “Pre-Boom Box” being a Panasonic similar to this. No one else carried one. Was I ahead of my time or did I give someone the idea?

ALT text: The image shows a Panasonic portable radio cassette player. On the left side, there is a cassette compartment with a transparent window, allowing visibility of the cassette inside. Above the cassette compartment, the brand name “Panasonic” is displayed prominently, along with the label “AUTO STOP.” Below the cassette compartment, the text “AC/BATTERY” is visible, indicating the power options for the device.

To the right of the cassette compartment is the radio tuner section. This section includes a frequency display for both FM and AM bands. The FM band ranges from 88 to 108 MHz, while the AM band ranges from 53 to 160 kHz. A red indicator is present on the frequency display, likely used to show the current tuning position.

Further to the right is the speaker area, which is characterized by horizontal lines that likely serve as a grille. Adjacent to the speaker, on the far right, is a control knob, possibly for volume or tuning adjustments. The top of the device features a handle for portability. The website “www.radiomuseum.org” is overlaid on the image, indicating the source of the photograph.
