About

DRBD® (Distributed Replicated Block Device) is an open source, software‑based, shared‑nothing block storage replication solution for Linux, designed primarily to deliver high-performance, high‑availability (HA) data services by mirroring local block devices between nodes in real time, either synchronously or asynchronously. Implemented deep in the Linux kernel as a virtual block‑device driver, DRBD ensures local read performance with efficient write‑through replication to peer(s). User‑space utilities like drbdadm, drbdsetup, and drbdmeta enable declarative configuration, metadata management, and administration across installations. Originally built for two‑node HA clusters, DRBD 9.x extends support to multi‑node replication and integration into software‑defined storage (SDS) systems such as LINSTOR, making it suitable for cloud‑native environments.

About

NVIDIA Magnum IO is the architecture for parallel, intelligent data center I/O. It maximizes storage, network, and multi-node, multi-GPU communications for the world’s most important applications, using large language models, recommender systems, imaging, simulation, and scientific research. Magnum IO utilizes storage I/O, network I/O, in-network compute, and I/O management to simplify and speed up data movement, access, and management for multi-GPU, multi-node systems. It supports NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and makes the best use of a range of NVIDIA GPU and networking hardware topologies to achieve optimal throughput and low latency. In multi-GPU, multi-node systems, slow CPU, single-thread performance is in the critical path of data access from local or remote storage devices. With storage I/O acceleration, the GPU bypasses the CPU and system memory, and accesses remote storage via 8x 200 Gb/s NICs, achieving up to 1.6 TB/s of raw storage bandwidth.

About

The core of extensible programming is defining functions. Python allows mandatory and optional arguments, keyword arguments, and even arbitrary argument lists. Whether you're new to programming or an experienced developer, it's easy to learn and use Python. Python can be easy to pick up whether you're a first-time programmer or you're experienced with other languages. The following pages are a useful first step to get on your way to writing programs with Python! The community hosts conferences and meetups to collaborate on code, and much more. Python's documentation will help you along the way, and the mailing lists will keep you in touch. The Python Package Index (PyPI) hosts thousands of third-party modules for Python. Both Python's standard library and the community-contributed modules allow for endless possibilities.

About

Pygame is a set of Python modules designed for writing video games. Pygame adds functionality on top of the excellent SDL library. This allows you to create fully featured games and multimedia programs in the python language. Pygame is highly portable and runs on nearly every platform and operating system. Pygame is free. Released under the LGPL license, you can create open-source, freeware, shareware, and commercial games with it. With dual-core CPUs common, and 8-core CPUs cheaply available on desktop systems, making use of multi-core CPUs allows you to do more in your game. Selected pygame functions release the dreaded python GIL, which is something you can do from C code. Uses optimized C and assembly code for core functions. C code is often 10-20 times faster than python code, and assembly code can easily be 100x or more times faster than python code. Comes with many operating systems. Just an apt-get, emerge, pkg_add, or just install away.
