The Guide

Really great little note DB program. The best part is that it can be launched via USB so I can walk around with my documentation and use it on any PC. When you're not cloud connected, this works just fine. Reminiscent of TexNotes Pro, which I loved, this gives you a lite version of the experience. No word processing features or auto-spell checks, no media embedding and no colour customizing of content areas. Basic Text toolset - Font type, size, bold, italic, justification, leading, organized and unorganized lists, margin left and right, hightlight and text colour. Other than that you have your hierarchical formatting of content in the left panel. Great for keeping a ton of related notes and documents organized but not made to create dynamic documents like some other word processors out there. Rich-Text format based, I used it for organizing ideas and concepts for story writing and character DBs, which I then move to a word processor for full formatting and editing. This software is geared towards people who like to organize content without the use of folders in folders in folders and may not always have access to cloud storage. Also those that enjoy the retro 90's experience of text and tools only.

I love The Guide! I have used it to write my life stories. I am a retired programmer and I have other text editors, but this one really works if you want to write things that are related to each other without making one big file. In other words, the organization ability is superb.
