Instructions to build stand-alone tkdiff (no tk required)
for Windows and Mac:

To make a stand-alone starpack for Windows or MacOS (can be done on Linux)
  1. Get tclkit for your platform and install it in your PATH.
  2. Get tclkit.exe for Windows and put it somewhere like in $HOME/TclKit.
  3. Get diff.exe and uninstall.exe for Windows. Put them where tkdiff is.
  4. Edit PackStarpack so $Tclkit points to where you put it.
  5. Run PackStarpack. It will produce a stand-alone tkdiff.exe or a
     TkDiff.app bundle.

Windows installer (do on Windows):
  6. Get InstallJammer for Windows.
  7. Start InstallJammer and open TkDiff.mpi with it. Edit the Tkdiff
version number. Re-save the mpi. (Or edit the mpi file first.)
  8. Click "Build Installer" in InstallJammer. It will produce an "output"
directory with a Windows installer in it.

To make a stand-alone TkDiff.app for MacOS X (do on Mac):
Method 1 (starpack)
  6. Run MacFinish to make a disk image and compress it.

------------------
Method 2 for Mac:
  1. Get a Wish standalone like TclTkAquaStandalone-8.4.9 from
http://tcltkaqua.sourceforge.net/, unpack it, and put it
somewhere like in your Downloads directory. I recommend
being a little conservative and not using the very latest
version. The last one I had success with was 8.4.9.
  2. Get buildDMG.pl (or some similar utility) and have it in your PATH.
  3. Edit the TkDiff version numbers in Info.plist and PackApp.
  4. Run PackApp. It copies the Wish stand-alone, turns it into a TkDiff
stand-alone, then makes a disk image and gzips the disk image.
