To be honest, DML in plpgsql is not fully reviewed and we suspect there could be something needs improvement/fix. In the regression test, the test script issues "update" statements from plpgsql and it works fine. GTM-master does not require sync for every command to GTM-standby. It requires sync only at the end of grouped commands from GTM-Proxy. There should not be significant influence to the performance.
