We are heavy postgis users and often throughput bound with large datasets. I had begun to despair of moving to a new platform when I noticed postgres-xc. I have a couple of questions: 1) I might be in the position to acquire funds to build a postgres-xc cluster. Any recommendations on ideal specs for a smallish postgres-xc cluster of say 2-8 nodes? 2) Is default postgis integration planned? 3) Are there plans for an ubuntu repo? This looks like a great project. I especially like that it does not impose a lot of new learning on the user (albeit perhaps for the admin). Despite 18 years postgresql experience including back-end development and writing R packages for querying postgresql, we really don't like to have to learn a lot of new and specific syntax as our primary goal is our research.
