this will probably does not add anything to the thread but just as a 2
cents tip: when you are
not really sure about the libraries linked with your binary you can just
use the ldd command
via the shell.

Something like this:

ldd /usr/local/pgsql/bin/postgres

should come out with the output (on a Debian Squeeze machine on AMD64 arch):

linux-vdso.so.1 =>  (0x00007fff807ff000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f1512c24000)
libxml2.so.2 => /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2 (0x00000....)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f1512a20000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x00007f151279d000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007f151243b000)
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f1512e69000)
