Hi.

They probably depend on other libraries which aren't installed.

Please check the NEWS file of your version for the correct paths (they have
been changed in the past). The file should contain a working mysql example.

dl() should work in fcgi mode. Try to load the lib directly and check the
php error log.

I need to add extensions (.dll) files for my PHP application. I have 
followed the FAQ instructions on where to put the extensions. My .ini 
files are in the directory under WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\conf.d and my 
.dll files are under WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext. These are the 
instructions in various README files including the FAQ.

Why aren't the extensions being loaded? Can someone please send me an 
example of a .war file that has .dll extensions loaded in the PHP 
application? I have yet to see one anywhere on the internet.

Yes, I' m not confusing it at all. I was just telling my experience and
where I was coming from (scared about all the hassles wrt Quercus), that' s
why I was pleasantly surprised to hear of someone running Joomla from a
J2EE server without major issues.

That is exciting news for me, as I kept reading about tweaks and errors wrt to running Joomla on top of Caucho.com's Quercus. See ie http://forum.caucho.com/showthread.php?t=28700

I then asked about running Joomla 1.7 on top of Quercus on the Quercus mailing list and got no reply. That wasn't very encouraging either. :) http://old.nabble.com/Joomla-1.7-on-Quercus---does-it-have-a-future--p32145514.html

The encouraging news is that with the PHP-Java bridge one is actually running the real PHP, not a "separate, compatible php implementation written in Java". That should minimize problems.

How does the auto-update feature of Joomla work, at least in your experience?.

My idea is to run Joomla with a commercial News Site template (like iJoomla), on top of Caucho Resin.
I'd like to avoid running Apache whenever possible, and instead use a pure-Java web server like Resin.

Thanks for your positive report. If this works without major problems, this solution using php-java bridge should be promoted more!. I've seen lots of questions from users who want to run Joomla on a Java app server, or who ask "is there a Joomla version written in Java".  Well, I think a J2EE server and Joomla's extensions and templates ecosystems is for now the best of both worlds... :)

2.5 "as is" under a J2EE server like Caucho's Resin, for instance?.

Right click on JavaBridge.war -> "open with" WinRar and you'll see it.

Hi. Servlet spec days that you can't use a writer and the Outputstream at
the same time.

So your code must check if one is available and possibly use the other as a
fallback.

Please solve the conflict as usual. Either use your own OutputStreamWriter
or grab the writer early and force the library to use its own.

Can someone provide insight into importing a Java jar into a PHP application ? I am trying to instantiate an object I developed called SubscriberTrace which is packed in a Java jar.  I have the ST.jar file located in the JavaBridge/java directory.  I get the following error:

Where else can I look for the cause that our application is not able to

Dear Sir, 

I've implemented php-java bridge over eXo Portal as J2EE application and some php application to provide share credential between two different application.


The point is, 
    ctx.handleRequests(request.getInputStream(), response.getOutputStream());


There is conflict ( kind of IllegalStateException as both 
getOutputStream()/getWriter() are invoked on httpResponse object)

So, how could we handle this as eXo Portal is designed over calling getWriter().

Please see the Apache Tomcat documentation for details. You shouldn't
change the value without adjusting Apache's MaxChilds, too.

Again. Running the bridge outside a JEE environment ist NOT supported.

I would like to increase thread pool from default 20 to bigger value. According to FAQ:

"How many threads does the bridge start?

Request-handling threads are started from a thread pool, which limits the number of user requests to 20 (default), see system property php.java.bridge.threads. All further requests have to wait until one of the worker threads returns to the pool."

I think that setting php.java.bridge.threads as system property is not working properly.
I set this parameter in java opt and I see it in system processes:
