Glad to hear someone finds it useful.
It actually also works for subplots, I had forgotten I had already fixed=20
that.
I patched the backed_bases to add the postition to a history stack, but it=
=20
probably doesn't get called everywhere correctly (i.e., the current=20
views/position should also be put on the stack when the subplot size is=20
adjused I guess). But it works fine when scaling/panning figures in the new=
=20
toolbar. I'll post it as a patch.
If someone still thinks axis('scaled') is broken, after all the discussion=
=20
we've had, please repost so we can work it out.
