Thread: [Matplotlib-users] How do I change the font size for the default coordinates?

I've searched the user manual (and this forum) but I don't see anything that
helps.

Assuming you mean what we call the tick labels:

import matplotlib
matplotlib.rcParams['xtick.labelsize'] = 14
matplotlib.rcParams['ytick.labelsize']  = 14

These can also be changed in your matplotlibrc file -- see
http://matplotlib.sf.net/matplotlibrc
