Could this be a data type issue?

from numpy import arange
arange(120, 130, dtype=Int8)

None that I can see; if you seem to be running into such a limit, then 
it sounds like a bug.

I'm trying to run a program that plot experimental datas during measurement
(to check if experiment is okay). I started doing directly measuring one
point and plotting it

matplotlib.use('TkAgg')
...

...

    plot(X[-1:],Y[-1:],"o") #plot data point

1) with ipython, the graph stays hidden by the ipython window
lauching by direct double click, it is okay plot is not hidden but after 2
click on the plotting window, it freezes or if I try to move the window, it
does not move then the plot window is "not responding" anymore.

I thought I would solve this using a seperate thread for the plot. I tried
but no chance

I've seen the FAQ and some few mails in the list, I didn't really get the
way to solve this problem ?

If not possible, maybe I could look for other options for plotting but I
wouldn't like. I'm pretty much accostumed to matplotlib (usually working on
linux were there is not that problem or limitation).


At first glance the only matplotlib example that works OK is
dynamic_demo_wx.py

I think I shall learn a bit of wxpython and adapt dynamic_demo_wx.py for my
case?

Hello all.  I'm a long time MATLAB user and relatively new Python user who
has decided to take the plunge and try MPL.  My workstation is an Ultra 60
running Solaris 10 (6/06) with Sun Studio 11.  I have compiled and installed
Python 2.5, numpy1.0rc3 and scipy 0.5.1 all with the Sun compilers.  I would
like to install MPL with the TkAgg frontend, and compile it with the Sun
compiler.

So far, it doesn't work.  I have the following environment variables in my
.profile pointing to the Sun compilers:
export CC=/opt/SUNWspro/bin/cc
export CXX=/opt/SUNWspro/bin/CC
but MPL tries to always compile with the C compiler!  I try tricking it by
pointing the CC variable to the CXX path.  This works, at first.  The output
follows.  I read this as meaning that there are two problems: one is that
MPL doesn't have an understanding of separate executibles for C and C++, and
the other is that there is some sort of incompatibility between Sun's C++
compiler and SWIG.  Are there any Sun people out there that have some
thoughts (or success stories they can share?)
