generate a new figure.

tex_demo.py and tex_unicode_demo.py:

plotmap.py:
    basemap toolkit

    some data files - do a svn co
      https://matplotlib.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/matplotlib/trunk/htdocs/screenshots/data/
      to get the data and then set the datadir variable in the
      plotmap.py file to point to this data direcotry
