Make images handle invalid values as if masked.
A little cleanup and docstring addition to image.py was included.

Update AxesImage for independent autoscaling of x and y axes.

Add imsave() to matplotlib.image, pyplot, and pylab. Patch from Gary Ruben.

Committed Andrew Straw's patch to support hyperlinks. Currently only the SVG backend, but the infrastructure is there for other backends to support it.

cleaned up output of mathmpl and plot directive; added thumbnail gallery
