updates to the users guide

updated users_guide.tex to mention numpy, qtagg backend,
new location of matplotlibrc files, and changes to the
process (numerix does not have to be selected at build
time, etc).

Use pslatex package for nice adobe fonts, use bookmarks
and colorlinks options for the hyperref package.

Removed figures from version control which are created
when make is run.
