Redirected tex, dvips, dvipng stdout to matplotlib.verbose

Added a ps.distill option in rc, to use ghostscript ps2ps and eps2eps.
Cleaned up calls to tex, dvips, gs, redirecting stdout, stderr to verbose.

fixed a bug in the way temporary latex files are named, these are now
random and unlikely to overwrite another file in the current directory.

added option to set eps resolution in rc

backend_ps increases the papersize if the image is too big. addresses a
small bug in the ps output.

This commit was manufactured by cvs2svn to create tag 'v0_5'.

docstring updates

Added support for large images and large papersizes to tex handling in
backend_ps.
