It's not exactly what you want, but this book uses Dev C++ with the allegro devpac throughout. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Programming-All-Jonathan-Harbour/dp/1598632 892/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205391267&sr=1-1 <http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Programming-All-Jonathan-Harbour/dp/159863 2892/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205391267&sr=1-1> From: dev...@li... It's quite good. When he said DevC++5 I got all excited and went to the website and everything thinking "yes, they picked up development!" Then I figured out he was just rounding, and went back to Code::Blocks. -- Registered Linux Addict #431495 http://profile.xfire.com/mrstalinman | John 3:16! http://www.fsdev.net/ | http://www.sauron.fsdev.net/ |

A long long time ago I was the unfortunate recipient of a C++ for dummies book which spent around 50 pages on core language features and then 150 pages on arrays and pointers. No wonder it took me three years and a computer science class with a real live teacher to figure out how to construct a working loop and if-statement! In addition the author's grammar (English) was all wrong. It was a dot-com book aimed for people who landed a job programming, yet have no clue what it is. Some of the more recent ones are better. Anything from the 90's I'd stay away from though. -- Registered Linux Addict #431495 http://profile.xfire.com/mrstalinman | John 3:16! http://www.fsdev.net/ | http://www.sauron.fsdev.net/ |
