Thread: [Dev-C++] about gcc

Hi all,
  The current release of devcpp is only support gcc 3.2. However, the
newest version of gcc is 3.3.x. Accordingly to the documentation of gcc,
some new features will only found on 3.3.x, I wonder why devcpp don't
upgrade the compiler to the new version ????

Actually, Dev-C++ uses GCC 2.95 features and tools (like dllwrap), which 
is heavily outdated. I really think too, that Dev-C++ *should* upgrade 
to the latest (at LEAST 3.2) version of GCC.

Actually, I NEVER downloaded a full package, just the IDE :)

But if you read again, you'll see that I wrote, that Dev-C++ uses 2.95 
*features* and *tools*, by which I meant, that though GCC 3.2 contains 
dllwrap, and other things for backward compatibility, those are still 
considered outdated, and the new ways of compiling should be used. Even 
the latest full package of Dev-C++ still uses dllwrap.
Which is slow and old. :P
