The version '1.6.revnumber' is actually wanted that way: msi ignores the fourth number in the version string, so to ensure that two msi's built (usually on my machine) are really recognized as different by msi I need the revnumber to be in the first three version numbers of the whole version string.
I do this with all my tools, including TortoiseSVN: there it's essential to do this, otherwise the nightly builds would not update properly.
