What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Disconnect from network (e.g. laptop)
2. Check for updates (scheduled or manual)
3. Tray icon animates with no new commits to report.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the icon to animate only when new commits are detected.  This
new version also animates on connection problems.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.5.1.382 on 32-bit Vista Business.  This behavior is new in this version.

Please provide any additional information below.
I use CommitMonitor on my laptop, which I frequently use off the wire
(train, car, conference room).  I monitor my company repository on a fast
schedule (5 minutes), and several FOSS projects on slower schedules (SVN,
Tortoise, CM, etc., every few hours).

This new behavior really reduces the value for me of using CM.  It used to
be that CM could find changes, then I could browse them on the train ride
home.  Now CM is guaranteed to be animated within 5 minutes of
disconnecting, so the animation becomes meaningless.

I don't mind having an indicator in the tray of connection problems, but it
should be different from the "new commits" animation, and "new commits"
should take priority.

Here's how I'd like it to work:
- All connects successful, no new commits:  static black eyes as before.
("I'm watching")
- Any connection problem, no new commits:  sleeping eyes, closed eyes, or
static black eyes with red X overlay ("I can't see")
- New commits, with or without connection errors:  animated eyes.  ("I
found something")

I suppose this could be a configuration item ("animate on connection
errors"), but having three states in the tray would probably make that
unnecessary.
