Hey Jan (and anyone else interested on this), I have upgraded this app and got it working on Python 3 and GTK3 but I'm waiting for a reply from Lars (the creator and owner of Blueproximity) regarding sending him the modifications so that he could officially release it to the public. I'm not sure if this project is definitely dead though. In case he doesn't reply in a couple of weeks I'd be willing to fork it and share the updated version. Fortunately, this app was released as an open source project...

Running Ubuntu server 16.04.3 with Kubuntu installed. It only worked for a day, not sure why it stopped, I don't recall pairing the phone prior to running the app, so it was likely running but not setup when I originally paired the phone. I had initially tested it by turning BT off on the phone & watching the lock/unlock commands work right after cycling BT off/on on the phone. Then one day I left & it never locked.
