Rustic Green Stoneware Chawan with Feldspar Inclusions Cone 6 Oxidation 4.25" x 4.25" x 3.5" This chawan was handbuilt using the kurinuki method of carving objects out of a solid piece of clay.  This handcrafted stoneware tea bowl is made of iron bearing clay, and is fired up to Cone 6 (about 2220F, 1220C) in electric oxidation. This clay is completely vitrified at this temperature an can safely be microwaved and washed in the dishwasher. Due to the handcrafted nature of this object, minor variations in size, shape, and surface decoration will occur.
