Yuca Fritters. A delicious and simple recipe that makes a great snack, appetizer or a second side dish for any meal! A staple in many Latino homes!

So what is yuca anyway and does it taste any good? Glad you asked! Yuca is also known as Cassava because it is a root from the Cassava plant. The shape and size of the Yuca root resemble that of a sweet potato. Its grainy texture and starchy qualities make for a sweet and nutty taste.

Easy recipe for fried manioc or cassava balls stuffed with cheese or meat. This delicious Brazilian snack is like a fried dumpling or fritter made with manioc (yuca/cassava root) and a cheesy filling; and can be served as an appetizer.

During our recent trip to Costa Rica, we enjoyed these delicious fried yuca balls at the La Laguna Restaurant at The Springs Resort & Spa. To make fried yuca balls, I recommend starting with frozen yuca, since it’s easier to find, but you can also use fresh yuca. Serve this with a side of Chipotle Mayonnaise or Sriracha Mayonnaise for a delicious dipping sauce.
