Solid color quilts

I am a self-admitted fat quarter addict. I oftentimes refer to fat quarters as “little pieces of candy”.

Sometimes combining colors in a quilt is not easy, so we are here to give you the #1 tip to use for selecting and mixing quilt fabrics.

This quilt is made up of big blocks, each one of a different child figure. I arranged solids as colorful backgrounds and paired them with various print fabrics to ensure a nice spread of patterns, colors and value. It looks happy, no? Come see the first blocks!

While making this quilt I had the urge to change up this design and give it a make-over. Which I did, but I couldn't show that one until this one was quilted, bound and washed!
