Nagako (6 March 1903 – 16 June 2000)[1] was a member of the Imperial House of Japan, the wife of Emperor Shōwa (Hirohito) and the mother of Emperor Emeritus Akihito. Her posthumous name is Empress Kōjun (香淳皇后).[1]

Nagako was empress consort (皇后 kōgō) from 25 December 1926 to 7 January 1989, making her the longest-serving empress consort in Japanese history.[2]
