Sir John William Frederic Nott KCB[1] (1 February 1932 – 6 November 2024) was a British Conservative Party politician. He was well known in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was Secretary of State for Defence during the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands and the Falklands War in the Margaret Thatcher cabinet.
